Do you or your child display high emotional intensity? Passion and drive for learning? Insatiable curiosity, extreme focus and perfectionist tendencies? Deep empathy and awareness of social injustices and hypocrisy? Fear of trying new things and anxiety about the unknown? Social isolation as you search for friends that get you? Gifted individuals are characterized by their heightened perceptions of self and the world around them, but are often limited in their ability to process their intense reactions and emotions. I understand and can relate to the varied and complex needs within the gifted population.
I enjoy helping individuals to identify and chart their unique path. I can help you navigate concerns related to emotional intensity, anxiety, perfectionism, self-criticism, underachievement, frustration tolerance, peer relationships, existential depression, and executive function.
I have experience providing counseling, education and support to children, adolescents, adults, and families through times of transition and change using the lens of giftedness. I work collaboratively with family members to determine and execute effective strategies.
